Chapter 13 takes us on an emotional journey through the Alps, as Lucia Marini, with determination and a pinch of anxiety, heads to St. Moritz. This place, famous for its luxury and beauty, becomes the setting for a crucial meeting with Thomas Müller, an accountant whose discretion and expertise are as renowned as his elegant and strategically located office.
Along the way, Lucia reflects on the weight of the investigation and the importance of every single detail in deciphering the complex puzzle of the case. Arriving in St. Moritz, she is welcomed by Müller, whose courteous and collaborative attitude, however, hides a caution that Lucia cannot ignore. During the meeting, the two analyze suspicious transactions related to the theft of the chemical formula, and Müller promises to carry out more in-depth checks, while maintaining confidentiality on some details, citing professional confidentiality constraints.
At the end of the meeting, Lucia feels that some doors have opened, but doubts remain that only time will clarify. The return to Corenno Plinio, through the breathtaking landscapes of the Alps, becomes a moment of introspection, in which Lucia re-elaborates what she has learned and plans her next moves.

Short Stories. Shadows of Ambition. Chapter 13: Revelations in St. Moritz
Lucia had carefully planned her trip to St. Moritz. The investigation had reached a critical juncture, and every detail mattered. She left Corenno Plinio early in the morning, under a sky still studded with stars, with the cool lake air seeming to herald the importance of the day ahead.
After saying goodbye to Alessandro—who encouraged her with a few supportive words and a cup of coffee to take on the road—Lucia got into her rental car and headed toward the Maloja Pass, the most direct route to the luxurious Swiss resort town.
The road snaked through the Alpine landscape with tight, steep bends climbing between the mountains. As the car gained altitude, the view changed: lush forests gave way to bare rock and alpine pastures, where spring’s vibrant green was slowly yielding to the more muted colors of summer.
The drive was a mix of apprehension and admiration for the scenery. Lucia focused on the winding road, but her mind kept circling back to the information she hoped to obtain from the accountant in St. Moritz. Her thoughts replayed every detail of the case, anticipating possible questions and answers.
Past the Maloja Pass, the road wound down into the Engadin Valley.
The scenery here was breathtaking: vast valleys framed by towering mountains, small villages scattered here and there, and the River Inn meandering along the valley floor. Despite the beauty surrounding her, Lucia felt the weight of her responsibilities. Every kilometer brought her closer to the truth—or so she hoped.Upon arriving in St. Moritz, Lucia found herself immersed in a world of its own. The town combined old-world charm and modern luxury, with grand hotels and exclusive boutiques. But beneath its pristine façade, St. Moritz also concealed the secrets of those, like accountant Müller, who navigated the shadows of wealth and finance.......
