rMIX: Il Portale del Riciclo nell'Economia Circolare - The Mystery of the Abandoned House of Foppolo. Chapter 4: Beyond the Threshold
Summary

In the fourth chapter, Marco Anselmi's investigation becomes deeper and more concrete. After a restless night, the journalist begins to connect the first tangible elements of a story that, until then, had appeared as a succession of suggestions and fears. The cold and suspended atmospheres of Foppolo are the backdrop to a crescendo of tension, while Marco collects testimonies, observes suspicious behaviors and comes across documents that seem to open up new scenarios. The plot takes a more investigative turn, while remaining immersed in an aura of uneasiness. An unexpected character enters the game, bringing with him new possibilities... but also new risks. The town, apparently motionless under the snow, hides something deeper - perhaps literally. The foundations of the Ravelli house reveal themselves as the possible turning point, but to get down there will require courage, preparation... and perhaps the ability to distinguish the boundary between reality and nightmare. A chapter that pushes the reader ever closer to the heart of the mystery, leaving a sense of vibrant expectation and the feeling that the truth, if it exists, could cost dearly.

She could hear the wind howling outside and the heating system’s crackle, which had started at dawn. The Monte Toro Hotel, owned by Luca and Claudia, seemed like a safe haven in the heart of a town shrouded in secrets. Yet even that familiar warmth was not enough to dispel the subtle fear she felt.

Marina descended the wooden staircase, resting her hand on the banister, and found herself in the common room: a spacious and welcoming area, with a large lit fireplace in the center and leather sofas arranged in a circle.

Through a side window, she could see a small snow-covered square; farther off, the silhouette of the mountains loomed large and mysterious....
