Code: 10879. I am a restorer of ancient and valuable fabrics accredited by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
The world of fabrics to be restored includes a wide variety of artefacts, including flags, banners, altar frontals, embroidery, lace and crochet .
These objects can be made with different fabrics both in terms of material and type of workmanship.
Examples include elaborate fabrics such as velvets, lampas and jaspers, as well as simpler ones such as satin, canvas and woven.
Often, these artifacts are enriched with metallic thread decorations, various types of inserts and ornamental borders.
Because of these characteristics, the restoration of fabrics requires an in-depth study of the original production techniques and a preliminary analysis of the condition of the piece.
Subsequently, the restoration intervention is planned, carefully selecting the most suitable materials.
Conservation techniques will be applied respecting the integrity of the work and, finally, in agreement with the owners, the most appropriate display method will be decided.
