Plastics processing machinery manufacturers: guide with verified contacts, divided by type of processing (2026)100 companies | 9 process categories | 22 countries | Addresses and contact details updated in 2026 by Marco Arezio — Published March 2026 Since I've been working in this industry, I've answered the same question dozens of times: where can I find a reliable manufacturer of injection molding machines for medical components? Or extruders for recycled materials? There were no organized sources, only generic lists. "I've seen purchasing managers waste hours searching for blow molding machine suppliers on Google or AI, each time finding outdated lists or websites that mix everything up. This guide was born out of that frustration." Typing " plastic processing machinery manufacturers" into Google today yields a paradoxical result: "millions" of pages, none that truly answer the question. Generic lists, outdated directories, distribution sites posing as manufacturers. Anyone looking for a PET blow molding machine doesn't need to know that Haitian is the world's largest manufacturer by volume: they need to know who builds PET blow molding machines, in which country, and how to contact them directly. This guide solves exactly that problem. We selected and verified the contact details of 100 companies, divided them by type of production process—not by turnover, not by size—and added a description of their actual specialization for each. The result is available as an interactive guide on the rMIX.it website, at the bottom of this article as a PDF attachment, with real-time filtering. The Industry in 2026: What's Really Changing Before delving into the list of companies, it's worth understanding the context in which they operate. Not to cite report-worthy numbers—anyone can do that—but because the market in 2026 is undergoing three structural changes that will directly impact machine purchasing decisions. The first change concerns energy. Fully electric machines are shifting the market faster than manufacturers had anticipated. In the injection molding industry, electric presses consume 30% to 70% less energy than equivalent hydraulic ones. With energy rates stabilizing at higher levels after 2023, the payback period for an electric machine has shortened from four years to approximately 18-24 months. As a result, the electric segment is growing at a CAGR of 5.5% versus the industry average of 4.8%. The second concerns recycled plastic. The European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which came into force in 2025, requires increasing recycled content in packaging. This is creating demand for machines capable of processing resins with a high percentage of PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled), which have less stable rheological behavior. Hydraulic presses cope better with the irregular melts of recycled materials; co-rotating twin-screw extruders have become essential for compounding high-PCR blends. The third is geography. Asia-Pacific accounts for over 47% of the global plastics machinery market, with China adding 5 million tons of new polyethylene capacity annually. But the real news in 2025 is India, with plastics exports worth nearly $12 billion and government plans for 10 parks dedicated to plastics processing. Many European manufacturers are opening local offices or joint ventures precisely to tap into that demand. Indicator Value 2025 Projection and Trend - Plastic machinery (total) $33.9 billion → $42.3 billion by 2030 | CAGR 4.5% - Injection molding machines USD 10.8–17.4 billion → Largest segment, CAGR 4.8% - Extruders 7.89 billion USD → 10.5 billion by 2030 | CAGR 5.98% - Blowers 3.3 billion USD → 4.05 billion by 2030 | CAGR 4.2% - Blow molding: fastest growing segment in 2025 - Asia-Pacific market share 47% China + India: the two main drivers - Italian industry 4.82 billion EUR 430 companies, 15,000 employees (2024) Sources: Mordor Intelligence, Fortune Business Insights, Grand View Research, Precedence Research — reports published between July 2025 and February 2026. 💉 Injection Molding — 18 companies in the guide The most common process in plastics processing. An injection molding machine injects molten plastic into a closed mold; the part cools and is ejected. It seems simple, but the variety of applications is enormous: a 6-ton medical micromolding machine and a 5,000-ton automotive bumper molding machine use the same principle and completely different machines. The injection molding machine market is worth between $10.8 and $17.4 billion (2025), depending on the source (the difference depends on the inclusion criteria). What is certain is the direction: hydraulic machines still hold 51% of the market, but the electric segment is growing at a 5.5% annual rate and is gaining ground especially in the medical, electronics, and precision packaging sectors. Japanese manufacturers—Fanuc, Nissei, Sumitomo Demag—have led this transition for two decades. The guide features 18 manufacturers, from German and Austrian leaders (Arburg, Engel, Wittmann Battenfeld) to Asian giants by volume (Haitian, Chen Hsong), and even niche specialists such as the German company Dr. Boy for small tonnages and Netstal for ultra-fast cycles of under 3 seconds in packaging. Beyond the quality of their machines and customer service, printers today are focused on energy consumption. With energy prices significantly high in some European countries and international tensions keeping oil and gas prices under pressure, cost-effectiveness becomes a key factor. 🔩 Extrusion — 12 companies in the guide The extruder is the driving force behind the production of semi-finished plastic products: it pushes molten material through a shaped die to obtain a continuous product—tubes, profiles, films, and granules for compounding. It's the process you never see, because it produces what other processes then transform. The extruder market is worth $7.89 billion in 2025 and is expected to grow to $10.5 billion by 2030 (a CAGR of 5.98%), one of the fastest growth rates in the entire plastics machinery sector. Blown film—which alone represents 31% of the extruder market—is driven by e-commerce: every package you receive at home has required PE or PP film produced by a line like Reifenhäuser, Windmöller & Hölscher, or Luigi Bandera. But the real innovation is compounding with recycled raw materials . Co-rotating twin-screw extruders—led by Coperion and Leistritz—have become the heart of recycled material upgrading plants: they take PET flakes or recycled PE granules and transform them into high-purity compounds, compatible with demanding applications. Demand for these systems is growing faster than the overall market. In the guide you will find 12 manufacturers: the German film giants (Reifenhäuser, Windmöller & Hölscher, Brückner for biaxial), the Italian excellences (Luigi Bandera, Macchi, Colines for stretch film), the compounding leaders (Coperion, Leistritz) and the emerging manufacturers from India and Canada who are conquering the African and Asian markets. Before choosing a manufacturer to purchase an extruder, customers need to analyze their raw material flows. If they use virgin polymer, they may need a single-screw extruder manufacturer. If they use a mixture of virgin and recycled polymers or a 100% recycled blend, corotating twin-screw extruders are important to consider. 💨 Blow Molding — 12 Companies in the Guide Blow molding machines produce hollow containers: your water bottle, your shampoo bottle, your car's gas tank. A seemingly simple process hides dozens of critical variables: thickness distribution, drop resistance, oxygen barrier. The blow molding market is worth $3.3 billion (2025) and will grow to $4 billion by 2030. The ISBM (Injection Stretch Blow Molding) technology segment, the process for PET bottles, holds 52% of the machine market. Packaging accounts for 34.7% of end-use. Japan's Nissei ASB—which invented the one-step ISBM process in 1977—remains an unrivaled technological benchmark for finished product quality. The big question for 2026 in European blow molding is: how to handle 25-30% rPET in existing lines? The PPWR regulation requires it, but rPET has variable intrinsic viscosity and residues that create color and process issues. Manufacturers are responding with filtration and viscosity control systems integrated into the lines themselves. The guide features 12 manufacturers: from the world leaders in PET (Sidel, KHS, SIPA) to industrial EBM specialists (Kautex for fuel tanks, Bekum for HDPE containers), from Japanese one-step manufacturers (Nissei ASB, Aoki) to Italian Magic MP. The plastic blow molding industry has experienced rapid growth over the past 15 years with the introduction of recycled polymers. Starting initially with HDPE bottles for detergents and the industrial sector, development has continued in the rPET bottle sector, requiring higher-performance and more flexible machines. 🔥 Thermoforming — 7 companies in the guide Thermoforming is the process used to make supermarket trays, pharmaceutical blister packs, and fruit trays. A sheet or film of plastic is heated until it softens, then shaped into a mold using pressure or vacuum. It's a cost-effective, fast process, capable of producing thousands of pieces per hour. The thermoforming machinery segment is less visible than other segments but economically significant, driven primarily by disposable food packaging and the medical sector. ILLIG and Kiefel are the leading global names; the Italian company OMV is the most specialized European manufacturer in fast-food packaging. The focus for 2026 is the transition from polystyrene (PS) trays to recyclable PP and PET trays, mandated by European regulations: this requires significant technical adjustments to existing machinery. Kiefel, with its NaturePlus line, is breaking new ground: thermoforming natural fiber components for automotive interiors. It's not plastic, but the machine is the same. This type of hybridization between process and material is one of the most exciting trends in the industry. Even in this sector, the shift of part of the production from virgin polymers to recycled polymers has required greater production flexibility from the plants, also allowing the use, for example, of PET flakes in place of granules. 🎞️ Film & Plates — 8 companies in the guide Blown film is the basic material for flexible packaging: bags, food pouches, agricultural film, and industrial film for pallets. Biaxially oriented film (BOPP, BOPET) lines produce the film for clear labels on bottles and the film in the capacitors of your household appliances. Italy has built an often-overlooked position of international excellence in this segment: Luigi Bandera, Macchi, and Colines are respected worldwide for their quality and innovation . Colines in particular is the global leader in stretch film, a niche worth billions of euros in Europe alone. The extruded film market is expected to be worth approximately $12.4 billion in 2025, with a CAGR of 6.4%—one of the fastest growing in the entire sector. The main challenge for 2026 is mono-materiality: European regulations are pushing for recyclable mono-material PE films, abandoning multi-material structures (PE+PET+AL) that currently guarantee the best barrier performance. Line manufacturers are developing new co-extrusion configurations to achieve acceptable oxygen barrier properties without resorting to aluminum or nylon. From a circular economy perspective, European legislation is moving in the right direction, as the circular economy starts upstream rather than downstream, designing films that can be 100% recycled. Therefore, the machinery market must also adapt. 🏗️ Composites & Rotomolding — 7 companies in the guide Two different processes, united by a common denominator: they produce large, structurally complex objects, or objects with geometries impossible with other processes. Composites (SMC, LFT, carbon fiber) are conquering the electric automotive industry: bumpers, floors, and doors that are lighter than metal but cheaper than pure carbon. Rotomolding produces tanks, kayaks, garbage bins, and toys: large, hollow objects with cost-effective molds. Italy boasts a lesser-known excellence in this sector: Persico di Nembro (Bergamo), specializing in high-end industrial rotomolding, and Rotoline. In the composites sector, the German companies Dieffenbacher and Schuler dominate large-volume molding lines, while the French company Roctool brings innovation to rapid inductive mold heating. ⚙️ Auxiliary Systems — 16 companies in the guide Auxiliary systems are the invisible side of every processing department: dryers that remove moisture from ground or densified materials before molding, gravimetric dosers that precisely balance material mixtures, Cartesian robots that extract parts from the press, temperature regulators that keep the mold at the exact temperature, granulators that reduce waste to reusable material. With 16 companies, this is the largest category in the guide—and for good reason . Ancillary manufacturers often achieve more stable margins than primary machinery manufacturers, because customer loyalty is extremely high: those who install a Piovan drying and conveying system tend not to replace it for 15-20 years. The Italian company Piovan is the undisputed world leader in this category, listed on the stock exchange with a turnover exceeding 500 million euros. The 2026 theme in this category is data integration: new auxiliary systems transmit process data in real time to the company's MES/ERP, allowing for energy consumption optimization and maintenance planning. Wittmann and Piovan are the most advanced in this area. As we've seen, auxiliary systems are crucial in the production of plastic polymers, but even more so when processing post-consumer recycled polymers. For example, I recall the importance of densification and drying systems for recycled polymers, especially those with lower densities. 🔗 Joining & Welding — 3 companies in the guide Welding plastic components is a highly specialized discipline: ultrasound, vibration, laser, direct heat, or spin welding. Each technique has its ideal materials, tolerances, and limitations. The market is dominated by two major global players: Herrmann Ultraschall (Germany) and Branson, part of Emerson (USA). The industry is undergoing a quiet transformation: laser welding is rapidly gaining ground in the production of electric vehicle components , where battery modules and LIDAR sensors must be welded without mechanical vibrations that could damage the integrated electronics. Herrmann and Branson both launched next-generation laser systems between 2024 and 2025. 🔬 Measurement & Quality — 4 companies in the guide Capillary rheometers, tensile and impact testing machines, in-line melt pressure sensors, and machine vision systems: these tools exist to ensure that the processed material meets specifications. They don't produce plastic, but they ensure that the plastic produced works. With the growing share of recycled raw materials in blends, this category is becoming more critical than ever: recycled material is, by definition, variable. A batch of r-HDPE from one supplier and the next batch can have MFI (Melt Flow Index) differences of 20-30%. Without in-line or sample rheological control, the process goes off-spec without the operator immediately noticing. Göttfert and Dynisco are the leading names in this process instrumentation. Frequently Asked Questions Q: Which are the world's largest plastics machinery manufacturers? A: By production volume, the world's largest injection molding machine manufacturer is Haitian International (China). The recognized leaders in terms of technological reputation and premium segment share are Arburg and Engel (injection molding), Coperion and Reifenhäuser (extrusion), and Sidel and KHS (PET blow molding). Fanuc holds the highest market share in the single electric injection molding machine segment (over 8% in 2024). The complete guide of 100 companies is available on rMIX.it attached to this article. Q: What is the difference between a hydraulic and electric injection molding machine? A: Hydraulic presses use fluid power to generate the clamping and injection force. They are cheaper to purchase, better handle high-viscosity materials (such as recycled materials), and are more suitable for large tonnages. Electric presses use servomotors. They consume 30% to 70% less power, have faster cycles, and are more repeatable. By 2025, the payback period for an electric press has dropped to 18-24 months in areas with high energy costs. Q: What machines are used to make plastic bottles? A: PET bottles (for water, juice, and soft drinks) are produced using ISBM (Injection Stretch Blow Molding) machines, which first injection mold the preform and then blow it into the final mold. Nissei ASB is the pioneer and technological leader in this process. HDPE bottles (for shampoo and detergents) are produced using EBM (Extrusion Blow Molding), a continuous process. Bekum, Kautex, and Magic MP are the leading manufacturers for EBM. Q: What is a corotating twin-screw extruder and when is it needed? A: The corotating twin-screw extruder has two screws that rotate in the same direction, providing intensive mixing and the possibility of degassing. It is the heart of compounding plants: it is used whenever two or more polymers need to be mixed, additives added, recycled materials with high impurity content need to be processed, or masterbatches need to be produced. Coperion (ZSK series) and Leistritz are the world leaders in this technology. Q: How do you find plastic processing machinery suppliers? A: The rMIX.it guide with 100 companies divided by process is available free of charge with a filterable search. Or in the offers/requests section of the rMIX recycling portal. For live events, K Fair in Düsseldorf (every 3 years, next edition 2028) is the world's leading trade fair. In Italy, Plast Milano and Mecspe Bologna are the main sector events. A final reflection Plastics processing is a sector undergoing profound transformation. It's not just European regulations, it's not just China: it's a redefinition of the value of materials, their circularity, and the cost of the energy that goes into each product. The machines these companies build are the means by which that transformation becomes concrete. The guide is available on rMIX.it, attached to this article . Doing Things Well but Communicating Them Badly: + 1 - 1 = 0Doing Things Well but Communicating them Poorly: + 1 – 1 = 0. Communication and Marketing Entrepreneurs, you don't improvise , you don't get up one morning and decide that by the afternoon you can create a product or service that you don't know. You do not acquire the technical, productive and distribution notions in a limited period of time, but they come from a clear and thoughtful reasoning in which pros and cons, technique and dedication, effort and ability, time and result are balanced. Emerging in today's interconnected market is really difficult, your product or service must be well thought out and you must dedicate the utmost care and effort to it to give your customers a result that is, not only useful to their lives, but probably better than competition average. Globalization has changed distribution systems and, while on the one hand they offer many opportunities, they have the drawback of being extremely crowded with more or less valid proposals, in which companies struggle to have a correct showcase of themselves. Making good products or good services today is no longer enough if you don't know how to communicate your qualities and prerogatives to the market . Years ago it was enough to have a website, hold trade fairs, have commercial collaborators who proposed your company. Today things have changed radically, as the internet is increasingly crowded and the proposals multiply, reducing the attention of your potential customers. Fairs are going through periods of difficulty and the sales network, also due to the company costs for its management, are in direct competition with online sales. Getting noticed on the internet, having the opportunity to find the right attention for your company in order to attract new customers, involves commitment and dedication. Corporate communication is a cornerstone of every large or small company , because on the internet we are all the same, but we can differentiate ourselves based on the content we create and the loyalty we build with our potential customers. Blogs, newsletters, social pages and company articles are a valid help to the entrepreneur who wants to grow his company in his own territory or abroad. Thinking of saving on communication means closing the gate of your company and disconnecting the telephones and electricity while waiting for the end. Correct, qualitative, punctual and professional communication creates an important reputation that will give you the right push in your business, without taking away time from you and your staff to focus on what you do well.

How Are PE Imports Moving Into China? How are PE imports moving in China? Despite a very critical international situation in terms of supply of polymers due to the scarcity of supply, the difficulty in finding containers and due to the now suffocating prices, the Chinese giant, whose economy grew in 2020 despite the pandemic, continues to also set records in the field of plastic polymer imports. In the analysis carried out by Pinar Polat, the Chinese PE market had excellent performances in terms of quantity, especially with regards to LDPE. In fact, Chinese PE imports reached a new record in January and February, according to data from the General Administration of Customs. The customs office processed this data for the first two months of the year (2021) taking into account distortions caused by the week-long Lunar New Year holiday, which this year was in mid-February. China was the only major economy that recorded growth for 2020, managing to expand by 2.3%. The country's success in controlling COVID-19, stimulus measures and low cash rates after the lockdown was lifted in April have increased its share of global trade and investment. As a result, the country's cumulative PE imports reached a new record in the first two months of 2021, surpassing 2019 volumes. Total PE imports in the January-February period saw an annual increase of 8.3%, exceeding 2.5 million tonnes, the highest figure in ChemOrbis import statistics dating back to 2001. Although February PE volumes declined during the holiday season, January-February total values remain strong. In fact, the slowdown in February was widely expected as commercial activities are normally reduced during the Chinese New Year celebrations. Millions of workers return to their hometowns to spend the holidays in traditional ways, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's holiday travel has been less hectic. On the other hand, cumulative PE imports in the first two months of 2021 were still positive in a year-on-year comparison. Among all PE products, China's imports of HDPE recorded a slight annual decline during this period, while imports of LDPE and LLDPE recorded increases. HDPE Total HDPE volumes in the January-February period recorded a slight decrease of 3.3% compared to the same period last year, standing at 1,097,065 tonnes. During this period, Saudi Arabia was the main supplier of HDPE to China with over 230,000 tons. Iran followed Saudi Arabia with 202,838 tonnes. LDPE Total imports of LDPE in the January-February period, however, increased by approximately 24% on an annual basis, reaching 544,676 tonnes. Iran remained the main supplier of LDPE to China with nearly 125,000 tonnes. LLDPE As for LLDPE in the first two months of 2021, volumes increased by 17% compared to the same period last year, standing at 920,985 tonnes. During this period, Saudi Arabia was China's top supplier with over 200,000 tonnes, while Singapore was the second largest supplier with 174,046 tonnes.
