Production of double-walled and inflatable three-dimensional fabrics for special applications with high technical characteristics

Code: 11577. Our experience leads us to work with double-walled three-dimensional fabrics, an advanced technology that allows us to obtain extremely rigid and stable surfaces once inflated.

This material is made by joining two parallel layers of woven fabric, connected by thousands of vertical yarns that, under pressure, ensure uniformity and strength. To ensure waterproofness and durability, the coatings are made with polymers such as TPU or PVC, capable of providing a hermetic barrier that is resistant to mechanical stress.

Production takes place on highly specialized looms, equipped with hundreds to over four thousand needles, capable of producing panels up to one and a half meters wide. Adjusting the distance between the layers requires great precision and lengthy calibration times, demonstrating the complexity of this process.

Once completed, the result is a fabric that finds use in highly technical sectors: from inflatable sporting goods to emergency support structures, all the way to aeronautical lifting systems, where it is used to construct airbags capable of supporting an aircraft in the event of landing gear failure.
