Single screw extruders use one-piece extrusion screws made of chromium steel, subjected to nitriding heat treatments, or coated with wear-resistant and/or corrosion-resistant alloys, depending on the type of plastic material to be processed.
The extrusion cylinders vary in L/D ratio according to the specifications of the production process, and can be thermally regulated either by air, using electric fans, or by water or oil, thanks to a dedicated control unit.
The cylinders are made with special chromium steels, heat treated with nitriding, or with bimetallic steels coated with anti-wear and/or anti-corrosion alloys.
