The eddy current (IS) separator for non-metallic scrap works by exploiting the principle of eddy currents, generated by the magnetic field on the head roller.
This device is mechanically similar to a conveyor belt and is generally integrated in-line within waste treatment and recovery plants.
Its main purpose is to recover non-ferrous metals present in the processed material and, in some cases, to recover any ferrous materials that have escaped the previously installed iron separator.
