Code: 10221. We produce a densified product in LDPE which comes from post-consumer waste from polylaminate packaging such as Tertapack, suitable for bituminous mixtures.
The product is made up of densified LDPE polymer obtained from the recycling of polylaminate waste (polyethylene and aluminium, CER 03.03.07 ) deriving from tetrapak type beverage cartons.
The densified LDPE comes from separation treatments between the paper fraction of the food packaging and the plastic fraction , made up of the protective and waterproof film of the package.
Furthermore, there is a fraction of micronized aluminum which belonged to the protective layer of the packaging paper.
The densified LDPE has excellent flexibility and adhesive characteristics, easily lending itself to the creation of bituminous mixtures, especially in the winter period.
In fact, the use of densified LDPE (low density polyethylene) in winter bituminous membranes is aimed at improving the mechanical properties of the material in low temperature conditions.
LDPE gives greater strength to the sheath, reducing the tendency to break and brittle in cold climates. This polymer helps maintain the performance of the bituminous membrane even in winter, allowing greater adhesion and durability.
