Dover Group Strengthens Presence in Industrial Inspection and Measurement Systems with Strategic Acquisition of German Company Sikora by MAAG

Sikora acquired by MAAG: strategic deal worth €550 million in the industrial sector

The panorama of industrial inspection technologies is enriched by a new strategic operation: Sikora AG, a German company specialized in high-precision measurement and quality control instruments, has been officially acquired by the American group Dover Corporation, which has chosen to integrate it within its MAAG Group division, based in Switzerland.

The overall value of the agreement is around 550 million euros, further consolidating the Pumps & Process Solutions segment of the American industrial giant.

Founded in 1973 in Bremen by Harald Sikora, the company of the same name has established itself over the decades as a point of reference in the design and production of systems for measurement, inspection and control in high-precision sectors such as cables and wires, pipes, sheets, optical fibers and plastics. With a workforce of around 450 employees spread between the headquarters and 13 international branches, Sikora closed 2024 with a turnover of around 100 million euros, the result of double-digit organic growth in the last three years.

The integration into MAAG marks a decisive step in the expansion and diversification strategy of the Swiss company, which is already firmly established in the polymer processing equipment sector. Its portfolio, which includes well-known brands such as Automatik, Ettlinger, Gala, Maag, Reduction, Scheer and Xantec, covers a complete range of solutions: pumping, filtration, granulation, pulverization and recycling technologies.

Both entities share a solid presence in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and can count on a structured global sales network, making integration and future synergies natural.

Ueli Thuerig, President of MAAG, described the acquisition of Sikora as “highly strategic,” emphasizing the high technological complementarity and cross-selling potential that the merger will enable. The aim is to further strengthen the joint offering in global markets, integrating the respective expertise to respond more effectively to the needs of the materials processing and control industry.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, subject to customary regulatory closing conditions.

In terms of governance, the integration will be conducted with a view to management continuity: Christian Frank, CEO of Sikora since 2015, will retain his position, supported by Holger Lieder, a leading figure in the sales department for over twenty years, who will be confirmed as Global Commercial Director.

Harald Sikora, founder of the company, will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity, helping to ensure a smooth transition and a consistent strategic vision.

The acquisition of Sikora by MAAG represents a new chapter in industrial consolidation in the field of automation and quality control, in line with the needs of Industry 4.0, process sustainability and the integration of global production chains.
