An experience of immersion in nature
Born in the 80s in Japan, Shinrin-yoku is the practice of “bath in the forest” a form of therapy that involves immersion in the woods to involve the 5 senses we have.
You don’t have to go to Japan to feel caught up in the feeling of well-being that the woods give, in fact it is enough to walk for a couple of hours, at a slow pace, on the paths traced to be able to benefit from it.
It has been scientifically proven that immersion in nature improves the immune system and positively affects stress states, lowering cortisol levels, and mild anxiety.
The positive effect seems to come from the substances that release trees, monoterpenes, which are hydrocarbons and fitoncides, essential oils released by tree barks, so much so that in Japan they have established a sector of forest medicine.
