Carbon dioxide has always been pointed out as a poison for the environment, dispersed without criteria in the atmosphere, destroyed the environments that acted as moderator of the air quantities, built products that emit it in dangerous quantities.

But there is another aspect of the coin which consists in considering CO2 a real resource to be reused in many civil and industrial.

The CO2, suitably treated, is used in the food sector, in soft drinks, in the medical sector, in water purification, in metal processing, as an ecological refrigerant gas and in many other fields of application.

So capturing it, imprisoning it, processing it and reusing it is an important opportunity but also a necessity for the carbon balance of our planet.

Among the first in Italy to industrially implement a CO2 recycling process was the Bergamasca company Tenaris Dalmine, which through its plant in Dalmine (Bg), began to deal with this precious raw material in the metalworking sector

Today the company has opened a collaboration with the company Saipem and Siad, which, through the purchase of an innovative Canadian technology through Saipem, uses an enzyme particularly for the capture of CO2.

A process that is affecting the technical-scientific study, with studies already at an advanced stage also at the Polytechnic of Milan and Turin.

This technology considerably reduces the post-combustion costs for the capture of C02 and allows its use in many areas of competence of between companies.

Michele della Botta, CEO of TenarisDalmine, claims that this project will help the company in its goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030.
