Code: 9490. In our recycling activities, we take care of the selection and processing of nickel-cadmium batteries.
Waste nickel-cadmium batteries are valuable sources of raw materials among which we find:
- Nickel
- Cadmium
- Fero
In the recycling process, nickel-cadmium batteries are first released from the plastic casing typical of power tools and then heat treated in a glass tube reactor.
The water from the electrolyte is removed, the residual plastic is pyrolysed and the cadmium is chemically converted so that it can evaporate from the batteries and recondense as metal inside the vacuum furnace (99.95% purity).
