Code: 10246. We offer the electrolytic nickel plating service of metals for third parties , which allows the products to increase the surface hardness.
Electroless nickel plating of metals is a coating process that involves applying a layer of nickel to a metal surface using electrolysis.
This process is widely used to improve the surface properties of metals, providing them with characteristics such as corrosion resistance, hardness and aesthetic appearance.
How the electrolytic nickel plating process takes place:
Surface Preparation: Before starting the nickel plating process, the surface of the metal to be coated is carefully prepared. This may involve cleaning the surface to remove contaminants and impurities.
Electrolytic Bath: The metal object is immersed in a bath containing an electrolytic solution that contains nickel salts. This solution serves as the anode, while the metal object serves as the cathode.
Application of electric current: An electric current is applied through the metal object immersed in the electrolytic bath. This current causes the dissociation of the nickel ions present in the electrolytic solution, inducing their deposition on the metal surface.
Formation of the nickel layer: Nickel ions, due to the application of electric current, are reduced on the metal surface, forming a uniform layer of nickel.
This process imparts several properties to the coated metal, including corrosion resistance, increased hardness, improved electrical conductivity and, in many cases, a decorative appearance.
Depending on the geometry of the piece, the maximum technical characteristics that can be treated are:
Diameter: 630mm or Width x Thickness: 1500mm x 600mm;
Length: 5000mm;
Mass: 10000 kg.
